Granja Natura: stories that deserve to be told
Behind every animal at Granja Natura there is a story. In this documentary we want to tell you who we are, how this project was born and why we dedicate ourselves to animal rescue and welfare.
A home for the animals, a lesson for the people
For 25 years, Granja Natura has taken in farm animals, exotic species and non-releasable wild animals.
Animals that have found a safe home and a new chance at our centre. Some were abandoned. Others arrived injured, mistreated or after living in situations where their needs were not understood.
At Granja Natura we offer them a safe space where they can live calmly and be cared for with respect until the end of their days.
Behind every animal there is a team of keepers who watch over their welfare every day, 365 days a year. Because animals know nothing of holidays, weekends or vacations.
That is why environmental education is an essential part of our project: we open our doors to schools, families and organisations so they can learn the stories of our animals from the keepers and guides of Granja Natura, so that the situations that brought them here are never repeated.
Every visit is a lesson about animals and the responsibility we all share towards nature.
Four pillars, one single purpose
We take in
We give a new chance to farm, exotic and non-releasable wild animals that need a new home where they are cared for with respect until the end of their days.
We educate
Families, schools and organisations learn to look at animals and nature with respect, knowledge and responsibility.
We conserve
We take part in native wildlife conservation projects, such as the Mediterranean tortoise and hedgehog release programmes.
We collaborate
We work in a network with wildlife centres, environmental organisations and social projects across the region. Because animal welfare is built as a community.
